We have had installed ours in June. I tried to post here more info for you but failed.
Please give me your e-mail adress by "privat message" and I will send it to you.
There are lots of independent companies around, some of whom may be cheaper. However, I had solar panels and air-con supplied & installed by Iberdrola.
Solar
They provided a free estimate by email - they use your current consumption pattern and a google image of the property to recommend the best location for the panels; and then followed up with a site survey to confirm costs.
After installation, they will then move you onto their Solar tariff - where basically, you pay a low rate for overnight usage (when you're not generating) and then the rate is higher in the daytime (but you shouldn't need to purchase much, as you'll be generating). You also earn approx. €0.05 per kWh that you export into the grid, if you're not using what you generate.
They provide a calculation which shows how long it would take to recover your investment (in my case 6-7 years); and they also offer finance. They also do all the paperwork for obtaining approval from your local council, etc.
The system was also designed so that I could add more panels in the future fairly easily (if, for example, I bought an electric vehicle).
Independent companies can do most of the above, but you would have to arrange the change of tariff with Iberdrola yourself.
Aircon
Iberdrola visited my property on request to provide a free quotation, advised on the best output required for each room and then provided alternative quotes for different makes of unit - effectively, a premium brand, mid-range and cheaper brand. At the time they were offering interest-free credit and, if I paid for a maintenance plan (@approx. €6 per month), then the units were provided with a 10 year guarantee.
Hope this helps!

Hi Rich T
I have a fortuna and I’m going to have solar system fitted I know it varies from property but could you give us a ball park figure as too costs for example how many panels did you have battery size (kWh) size and is adequate for all you needs ie cooker microwave aircon all at same time
Cheers

We went for a „local” company. Price was the same as the "big" ones who advertise ........(we asked Iberdrola for a quote - no answer)
Quote (14 panels) was €7.126,10 + € 400 "Realizacion de la Documentacion para la obtencion de la licencia de obras obrigatoria & cobradas el ayuntamiento por la obteincion de dicha licencia."
The panels produce ca. 39 KW per day.
Both done by Luna Renoables ( www.lunarenovables.com)
At this moment we have no batteries – we wait for the winter to see if the investment is OK.
You will need the same amount of KW for the batteries as your panels – in our case 6 KW. Searching on the internet: Batteries incl. Installations costs roughly € 1,200 per KW.

Ok thanks obviously it will very over in Blighty a complete 10kw system self install is a bout £4500 but no batteries (so not really complete)
Did you get an incentive from the Spanish or do they still have their heads in the clouds

I understand your argument:
BUT every person has his own reasons what/why he/she is doing different:
Would you install it yourself if you are 76?
Would you bother with the “civil servants” when it takes them just 18 months to issue the health card or over 2 years to get a building permission issued?
Time is to short…..

I paid €4,000 for 5 panels generating 1.7kW and, as I mentioned, I should recover that in 6-7 years. My bills have realised a saving of around €50 per month, which is as expected - most of this is from self-consumption, not selling the excess into the grid.
I have a potencia of 9.2kW, however, I have found that I rarely use more than 5kW at any peak. I find that my average consumption per day is approx. 10kW and I generate a similar amount. Clearly, I only generate from, say, 8am - 8pm, in a fairly regular curve; I have approx. 1kWh of constant baseline consumption (fridges, pool pump, etc.) and then peaks when I cook in the evening.
I don't have batteries, as (in my opinion) I don't think they are cost-effective yet.

That sounds perfect for what I want however I’m a little confused (no batteries) do you have a direct feed via a inverter to the consumer unit ? And as you have no batteries you rely on reverting back to the company supply when the sun has passed the yard arm so consequently if you do get a electric car in the future batteries will be needed or if you have a high power need and pass the rated kWh does the mains simply take up the slack and you continue un interrupted
Thanks
