Hi everyone. Moving to just outside Aguilas end of July just off the Carretera Vera. The property does not have a telephone line! Is this going to be a problem obtaining one? Messages we have read suggest very long waiting times. Is there a way round this to obtain the services we need ie; broadband, internet, wifi and TV. Would like to hear from anyone with their experiences or advice & suggestions. Many thanks in advance. Steve and Anna.
Hello. I would recommend Energytel based in Aguilas. I use there internet service and find it very good.
Tel 693 539 999 or call into their office near Plaza Espana, Aguilas.
They are located in the street alongside the Church, just walk 75 meters from the church in the direction of the harbour.
I find then very helpful.
All the best

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. We have had contact with Energytel who can only supply our internet needs.
We are looking for a supplier who can provide the whole package.
Kind regards,
Hello.I was speaking with an english fried this morning who uses Energytel for their phone as well as internet.
Regarding TV, they use energytel to watch english TV through the internet.
Not sure if that helps.
Good luck

Hi All
Having a holiday home in Aguilas for the last 15 years and visiting very often, I cannot believe I i haven't been able to find the answer for this myself, but I haven't.
Does anybody know if you can get fibre broadband in Calarreona or another type eg ADSL. We have WiMax on Line for about 3 years and is's pretty good. We get downloads of about 30Mb but the latency - ping is generally poor. That means at certain times of the day TV is near on impossible to watch (IPTV). We have a son with learning disability and he loves his TV I am afraid.
If anybody out there has got any positive experience with companies similar to WiMax I would be very pleased to hear.
Thanks again

Hi Paula
I’m moving to Calarreona next week and will need to find out all about this as well. The house has a telephone line but no wifi/cable. Please let me know if you find out anything. I’ll get back to you if I have news. I love my tv cooking shows!

Good luck with your move. Where are you moving to? One of the Delta 97 apartment blocks or a villa. Lovely place to live. There are masts all around so there generally is never an issue with Wi Max. To the best of my knowledge there still is not an option for fibre or adsl. There is however telephone lines but it is apparently to far from the exchange.
We found that wi max works perfectly if watching in standard definition. HD isn’t bad either, itv seems to break up a little in the evening. IPTV may have changed recently for the better. It isn’t the speeds as we were able to get in the region of 50 Mb it’s the latency or ping that causes the issues
let me know how you get on?/
Best Wishes
Paul
