That's very kind of you. I still haven't arranged exact dates yet but I'm excited by the number of positive comments about Aguilas.

Hi, have lived in Tebar area of Aguilas for 2 years. Absolutely love this area. Very Spanish, we mix with all the locals, and they in turn help to integrate us into their community. We grow veg, then swap with other locals with different fruits and veg. Can give you loads of recommendations for all you need to buy and live here.

Thank you for all the friendly replies and helpful tips. I'm really looking forward to exploring Aguilas with the hope of finding the ideal holiday home. The classic Andalusian townhouse with roof terrace appeals. Hopefully I'll find one in town which ticks most boxes.

We strongly recommend Aguilas having purchased a property 3 years ago between Aguilas and Calabardina. We too originally planned to buy in town. I will pass on some excellent advice we received. That was to remember that the Spanish can be loud and noisy as neighbours! If it’s peace and quiet you want.....?! Good luck with the house hunting in the area. It’s more fun than doing the same in England!!

Thank you for that info. I want to buy in Aguilas and I was thinking of the centre, maybe a little out from the center would be a better idea then.

We are right in the middle of town and quite enjoy the hustle and bustle. Yes they are noisy, but seem to go to bed early so it doesn’t really affect us...

Is there anything you don't like about living in the centre?  I like the idea of being in the centre and near the beach.

The dog muck is annoying but I guess you’d get that anywhere. We’ve made friends with our neighbours and they are pleased to have us around, despite our lack of Spanish and their lack of English!

The Playa Colonia area might suit you. The beach there is beautiful as are many of the other beaches. However if you are looking for a house near a beach then Calabardina may have suitable properties and is close enough to bus, cycle or drive into Aguilas in a short time.

Hi,

My partner jo and I are in the very early stages of planning a second home in spain and Aguilas so Far is top of our list.  The furthest away is August 2024 but anytime sooner is a bonus. Hopefully covid is coming to a gradual demise and we will be over to experience Aguilas first hand ASAP but we are always on the look out for good tips and advise. Cheers
