Shop in the Spanish shops they tend to be cheaper.

Some good stuff in the charity shops if finances are a bit tight.

Hi, my wife and I have been here on D16 for just under 2 weeks and have already visited Ikea, in Murcia, to have a look see and have since had 3 deliveries of furniture etc, if you are handy with a screwdriver can heartily recommend them, delivery to our door has been 49 euros each time,  costs nearly that in petrol for a round trip :-). Our (very nice) ikea sofa was delivered by a 3rd party who has a presence in-store  as we bought that  there and then as the offer was not available online. Also been to Leroy Merlin in Cartagena and picked up some very nice, modern LED ceiling fan/lights.

Sure people who have been here longer will help out will many other stores to use, certainly saw plenty of huge signs for furniture stores when driving into Murcia.

Even if you need to sleep on a camp bed it will be worth it just be here!!

Not had a lot of time to get to know people yet as too busy sorting out our place, but so far more than very happy with our decision and the people we have chatted to have all been friendly and helpful. We hired a skip to get rid of the rubbish left by the previous owners, 2 hours later the "scrap fairy" rang the bell and asked if he could rummage through,  10 minutes later the skip was half empty ready for more rubbish, next day he rang and offered to clear our garden of 2/3 years neglect, he and his family worked like nothing i've seen before and cleared the whole plot in a morning and it cost me less than the 2 more skips it would have taken. All very different to the way things worked in the UK but  going with the flow has made this home for us in under 2 weeks. We already have a builder in to rebuild/redirect our outside stairs, again very impressed.  Again give me a Pm when you get here and we can meet up at the golf club one lunch time for a beer and a chat, can pass on our tiny amount learnt so far, won't take long :-)
