Hi,

She is doing lessons in a bar. I had several teachers who do lessons in bar or restaurants. Not the ideal place for me.

A large number of Los Alcázares, Torre Pacheco etc. English speakers go to James Spanish School in Pilar de la Horadada. Its a 15 minute drive up there, on the AP7 but they go because his teaching style is very productive. Over the last 15 years James, who speaks the Queens English better than most of us, while being a Spanish native, has stripped down what you need to know, in a grammar free environment, teaching the structure of the language. He has over 500 registered students each week, so he is not about to quit, when he gets a real job.
Have a look at his Facebook site, you will see his students are very enthusiastic.(5) James Spanish School | Facebook. You can go to weekly classes or do his courses online www.jamesspanishschool.com or a mixture of both, ideal if you are back in Blighty for six weeks or so.
One warning, although his classes are a lot of fun, he does expect you to study and advance towards fluency. Its not just a Thursday morning jolly at the bar. After the first year, when you advance towards fluency, you get in addition to Spoken Spanish class lessons each week, an hour to an hour and a half of streaming video lessons each week, often with numbers of different Spanish speakers. It sure cuts into your drinking time, but you do make serious progress and it costs all of €6 each week.
There are in his classes many refugees from Duolingo, and coffee mornings, who have decided they actually want to make progress and they do!! You can watch a free demo lesson on his website Demo lesson from home page - James Spanish School or you can see some slices of his spoken Spanish course here Spoken Spanish - James Spanish School
Yes I am one of his students, a refugee as described above.
PS Just saw his add on this site on the right hand side

What is the cost ? Which days/times of the week is class-based ?

€6 per lesson, payable at end of the lesson. If you are away, you get the same lesson as a streaming video, as well as class notes, which is very convenient and most people revise the lesson as homework, using that. So at the end of the first year, you have a fully written set of course note and longing access to the videos, plus James answers his students individual queries by email or before the class starts each week,
The catch is his classes are very popular, the next class starting Tuesday 1:45pm next week was fully booked out a month ago. His next classes start in January, I think there will be two different times, as yet undecided, but if you go to his website you can register interest and you will be advised next month I imagine.
