Hi everyone,  I'm having trouble finding an outlet that sells gas cylinders (6Kg) for use on a gas BBQ.  I've Googled, I've tried all the stations that sell gas cylinders but can't find one that sells bbq specific ones. I'm getting the blank look accompanied with the shoulder shrug when I mention BBQ, might be my Spanish.

I don't want the bigger (20Kg) cylinders and the advice was that I must go to Santiago de Ribera.  But, being a bit of doubting Thomas, I figured there has to be someone local who sells what I need. I'm not here long enough to know people who can advise me on this (the lockdown didn't help in this regard).  My next course of action is to enquire in the BBQ shops, Leroy Merlin etc. but my Spanish is patchy at best and even though people are very helpful here I may not understand the reply.

Might anyone know how I can solve my problem - there's a gourmet hamburger in it for the best reply & I might throw in a glass of vino. T & C's apply (must use the jargon).  Thanks

Ann

You don't need a gas bottle that is specifically for use on a BBQ.

You just need a 6kg cylinder with the correct fitting / regulator for your BBQ.

Have you got the manual for the BBQ ??

Take some pictures with your phone ( if you have one of course !! ) & take them with you to the gas place.

Onions on my hamburger if I win...........

Hi Roland & thanks for that - I do have a manual and brought it with me but still got the shrug (it was like they never heard of such a thing🙄). I haven't seen the 6kg cylinders in any of the places I visited so the search goes on. Ever try red onions soaked in a little lemon juice? Great with a FinmDonal Skehan recipie for home made burgers. Worth the extra prep. You're in the queue!

Thanks Will, yes, I've tried them all but the 6Kg cylinder seems to be elusive.

Hi Phil, thanks for letting me know.  I'm in San Pedro - have a car so  could come and collect.  Might you have a photo?  How much please?   This might solve my problem as I have a regulator but still need to know where to get a refill.  Any ideas?  Thanks again.  Ann

Thanks Roland but no, I don't want the bigger size.  Gonna keep looking.
