Has anyone applied for a EDL lately?  Can you tell me the process you went through and where you have to go to get this done? Many thanks.

Thank you for that. I'm sure it will help anyone wanting to know that.  Can anyone help with the question I posted? Thank you.

Well if you mean a European Driving Licence then any licence issued by an EU country is a EDL....although as I said Spain has a different law requiring a Spanish driving licence within two years......maybe you could find more information on the DVLA or DGT website....

unless you mean exchanging your old licence for a EDL??

If you have a plastic credit card type driving licence as issued now by most EU and EEA countries (that includes UK at least until 29 March) then that is an European Driving Licence. Paper ones are NOT EDLs !!

If you are getting confused with an International Driving Licence, that is quite different...best to apply through the AA or RAC.

No, I don't want an International Driving Licence, but the UK-issued EDL may be    invalid after Brexit and it is the process of applying for the Spanish-issued EDL that interests me.  As most bureaucracy in Spain is a massive headache, it would be nice to know in advance all the pitfalls to avoid.

Thank you for your input, though.
