Hi

Just had my bill from Aqualia for September and October and it's tripled to 140 Euros! Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Bearing in mind we haven't even been there. We are on sector B.

A quick breakdown of charges that have risen so dramatically,

Consumo de agua was 11.20 Euros on average, this bill 50 Euros.

Alcantarillado variable was 10 Euros average, this bill 40 Euros.

Cons canon saneamiento was 1.80 Euros average, this bill 20 Euros.

I know there is extra 4 Euros Basura to payback arrears.

Why have all the rest gone up so much? A neighbour has kindly been round to check my meter and it's not moving so no leak there. My pool guy is going to keep an eye on the pool for me to see if any problems there.

Has anyone elses had these excessive charges on their bill? Remember we haven't even been there for 3 months!

Cheers Dave

Things to consider.

Is it an actual bill or estimated ??

Has your pool got an auto top up system & if so is it stuck open ??

Has somebody been using your water without your knowledge, a neighbour perhaps ?? ( it does happen )

Has your neighbour checked the correct meter for movement ??

Hello Dave

Have you actually contacted Aqualia to ask why there is there is such an  increase?

They have an office in Mazarron or you could phone them, they do speak English.

If you copy the link below from Murcia Today that will give you all the contact information the information.

Hope this is some help to you.

Ed

Alot of people are complaining of the increased water bills. Luckily ours was normal. Residents are emailing silvana who is to investigate.

Email [email protected] with your name and address aqualia contract number the date and amount of your previous lower bill and date and amount of the recent higher bill.

Silvana will be collecting all the information and will be asking them for an explanation

Hope this helps

Ps very heavy rain due so ensure your key holders check your properties the weekend

Hi, we had a similar problem a couple of years ago in Isla Plana. Whilst in the UK we received a water bill for €180. No leaks, no faulty meter— just Spanish neighbours who had their supply cut off for non payment using our outside tap/ watering system for free for 3 months!! Nothing we could do about it- just paid up and learnt a lesson. No auto watering of garden anymore!! Jaz.
