Hi
We are in the process of buying a house in Cehegin. Does anybody have any advice on home insurance? it will be our holiday home initially and we will move over full time in the next 5 years. I would appreciate it if you had any information on the cost or companies to approach.

Hi Karen, we have always used Pelayo, just off the Gran Via. We had a robbery about 12 years ago. We have very strong rejas, the cabrones couldn't bend them so smashed holes in the wall of the house to get them out. Pelayo arranged the builders, 48 hours later our house was fully repaired, you could hardly see the join!! Our claim for the items stolen was also dealt with promptly so we have stayed with them.
In terms of cost, our premium is over 400 Euros pa but that covers both the house and the stables/barn/tack room so I'm not sure how helpful that is as a guide.
