We have been living in Fortuna for just over a year now and have found it a friendly place, unfortunately as many other places in the world there are still places that get broken in to when the owners are not there. We know of 2 people that were broken into in the last year both whilst they were in the UK.

Hope that helps.

Well we just had our place broken into last week. We thought it was really safe but they ripped the metal grills right out of the walls over the patio doors. Makes me feel sick. They only took the TV. We didn't have anything else valuable in the house. Honestly just makes me feel like not going back. We are going to look at secure steel shutters for the doors and windows. Police are just not helpful either. We have only had the house for a year and had a visit last August. There has been a lot of break ins in the Costa Blanca so I suppose we are not alone.

MinnieC45 so sorry to hear that, you have a beautiful villa, we bought the bunks from you. One of friends that got broke into villa is just around the corner from you, he hasn't had chance to get there yet so there was nothing to take. You think that the grills would be enough of a deterent but if someone wants to get in they will. Are you here or in the UK at the moment?

Oh thank you. Yes the Bunk beds. We are still in UK just now. Can't travel from Scotland. Ironic that we would have been there now. The guy who looks after our pool has been a great help. Assessors have been out. He also went to the police station which took for ever. Anyway hopefully get out soonish. Hope everything good with you.
