Property wanted to rent: 3 bedroom house with a pool, communal or private for long term rent

Hi, we are moving to Spain, hopefully March at the latest. We are going to buy a property in Spain and want to take our time finding the right property. In the meantime we will rent a house, for 6 months at least with the option to stay on if the house sale takes a while to go through. It is just the two of us but we would like a 3 bedroom property as family will visit us, furnished too. With access to a pool. We can pay up to 650.00 euro and can pay a few months in advance. Do we need to have an NIE number to rent? Appreciate any advice you can give.
