I’ve noticed an increase in the non resident tax for this year.

We also have an apartment in Puerto Marina and the IBI tax and the PM Community fee have both just risen.

The IBI has risen by €110 this year and the community fee has risen by €16 per quarter.

I have queried the IBI increase and attach a copy of the explanation for the increase received from them.

Hi Anni I knew the INR tax was increasing from 19% to 24% because of Brexit and stupidly thought oh that's just an extra €10 ie. Tax last year 204€ so 5% =10€.

I was wrong! As its calculated on the cadastral value not the tax due it actually is a 25% of the payment and has now increased to 254€. Quite an increase!

In 2016 we received an IBI bill for over 1000€. When I finally got through to the English speaking agent in Alicante, was informed the IBI had been revised and our 126€ was revised to 349€ a Yr. Wow and the invoice which also had interest on it as it had been in our postbox some time was for the 4back yrs differrence. They apparently can backdate it and we just had to pay or it would increase with interest and possible fines added. Invoice only covered the difference and we still had to pay 349€ on a separate invoice for that year. We dread it being revised in the future. We also were told if property had not been revised the INR would have been calculated at 2% instead of 1%. Originally in 2006 our IBI was 104€ and INR was 183€, total taxes 287€ now total 603€. Quite some increase.

Thanks guys,,,,kinda new to the whole system and a few times i have had irregular amounts charged at different times throughout the year some of which I followed up got English speaking representative of the company etc and some cases I actually was overcharged and got reimbursement,,,,

On another note because of the increase in costs taxes ,fees etc has the general monthly rent went up any to counter this?
