I need to know if my UK driving license is still valid for car hire in Spain for holidays. I have owned a property in La Manga for the past 15 years, and usually come to Spain 4 - 5 times a year, but having read that English ex pats now have to take a driving test in Spain, i am slightly concerned this may have some impact on future trips.

Your UK licence is still valid as before for car hire.

The changes are for those people that have applied to become permanent residents.

DRIVING: THEORY & DRIVING TEST

Hi...

I’m a UK licence holder and unfortunately did not register to exchange my licence before the 31.12.2020 deadline 😣 as thought I had to wait for the residency status to be confirmed first.

Does anyone know if the theory test is in English?

And:

Is there any driving schools offering driving lessons with English speaking instructors in Aguilas, 30880.

Thank you.

Many have reported that the theory test in English is a very bad translation, and it is better to learn enough Spanish to use that.
