Hi. Can anyone recommend a good home security system and company to get a new updated system installed in our house in Spain. It will not be occupied 100% of the time so we need something that can alert the police (or a third party service) I presume. Thanks very much in advance.

Securitas/Verisure offer excellent monitored alarms and are very well known in both Spain and now also in the UK. We've just had one installed in our new house and it cost 249€ for the installation including all the cameras and sensors and comes with 6 key fobs to activate. Simple installation with no tubes or major drilling required. 39.93€ a month for the monitoring, which is not obligatory but recommended and they have English-speaking staff, both for the contracting and in their call centres. You can often find your local agent in your local press.
The previous owners of our property had the same system as Mags44 has described and I know a couple of other people local to me who have the same system and are happy with it.
