You heard right but it's nearly all over now. We've had some strong winds and heavy rain but tomorrow should start being warm and sunny again.

It will turn cold in late November and last till April with flooding and strong winds at some point

Just because there was some local flooding once or twice, doesn't mean that it will happen every year, or even ever again! Last week many parts of inland Murcia had storms and flooding overnight, meanwhile down here in San Pedro, we had sun all day and didn't get any rain at all.
