I Posted an enquiry earlier about experience of living in Balsicas. It appeared to me that no member of the forum lives or know about Torre Alcantara, Balsicas.  My question again, "IS THIS A PLACE TO RETIRE TO" Please give me your honest opinion of the Place good or bad. My wife and I will really appreciate it. We have to choose between Balsicas and Hacienda Del Alamo. We really don't want to be far from La Zenia boulevard.

Thank you John, your comments are well appreciated. I was beginning to think no one knows Balsicas or they are scared to talk about it. It still feels strange that no one in the Balsicas area would come out and write anything about their area. Very strange and worrying.

Hi Joe, we have just bought on Torre Alcantara, Balsicas in Sept having moved from Los Alcazares.  We really like it here, most things you need to survive on you can get in Balsicas. You are pretty close to other larger stores & amenities & having the rail link is a bonus.  We are still finding our way around but enjoying every minute.

Might be a lack of replies to your query due to the time of year... good luck with your decision & have a great 2018.

Mike & Sheila

Thank you very much Mike and Shiela you have made my evening. My wife loves the house but some body said there are lots of burglaries in the area and it is not a safe area, that really frightened us, Plus the fact that no one responded to defend the area. I thought this must be a strange Place. I know we Brits are every where like a rash, I was beginning to wonder may be this is one Place we have decided to give it a miss.

Thank you very much I now suspect some fowl play from my informer (Sales agent) trying to sell me a different house in Hacienda Del Alamo. Men the Place is nice but half empty. I just want a community with Spanish people and Culture not just tourist. I will settle for this, if all goes well. Once again thank you for your response, happy, healthy New Year in advance.

Hi I have a house in Balsicas but we don’t live there it’s a Holiday Home. There have been some houses that have been broken into during the 2 years we have had our property but that would be the same for any area not just in Spain but in the U.K too. I would say have an alarm installed and use it when you go out but I do that in the U.K.  Balsicas is a lovely place we love it. Everything you need on a day to day basis is a short walk away. We love going into Spanglish bar the owners are lovely and would make you very welcome. Balsicas is in a great spot as there are so many places to go and visit just a short Drive away.  We have had lots of friendly advice and help from the residents that live full time in Balsicas we are not sorry we chose to buy there.  Good luck with whatever you de

Thank you so much Jo. These are really encouraging comments.I intend to live there Permanently so they will have to take me first before they take my Property, "you can imagine the scene" kick boxing, you name in my own home.

Jo the truth is, I saw two Properties from two agents, it's one of the agents that is playing this stupid game, running down a whole town just to sell a house and get commission. I know that is a highly competitive sector but I did not expect somebody to stoop so low in order to make money, may be I'm naive.

As I stated earlier, because no body came out to defend the area when I first Posted my enquiry, I thought may be there is some truth in the her statement. Thank you very much for taking the time to defend your area.

I will certainly give her a few lessons on ethics. Happy New Year.

Whatever you decided I hope you are very happy in Spain. We didn’t have the problem with estate agents as we were on a place in the sun so only saw the estate agent after we had made our choice.
