FREE cash withdrawals in Spain WITH Santander debit card tried and tested

I asked about free cash withdrawals in Spain

It was suggested by Roland that

If you have a Santander debit card.

Just use your Santander debit card for FREE withdrawals of cash 

Make sure that you use a Santander branded ATM (or a Santander cash machine at a Santander bank)

When I put in my debit card it brings up information in English as I believe it knows it was an English Santander debit card.

It then says Welcome - Our cash machines are free to use. We want you to feel at home

Then it asks how much you want in Euros and you can pick or type the amount you want.

Then it asks you this

**You can manage the currency conversion EUR/GBP in this moment ensuring the amount of GBP you are going to be charged. 

In this case the results of the operation would be:

Exchange rate 0.9146 GBP/EUR (4.5% difference provided by BANCO SANTANDER exchange rate on 20/12/2022)

Amount to be charged from your account: 9.15 GBP 

YOU GET 2 OPTIONS buttons at bottom of the screen (NO thanks continue) or (Ensure my conversation now and continue)

You want NO thanks continue (or if you do nothing then it will do NO thanks continue by default)

**As I withdrew 10 euros and was charged £8.77 at a rate of 0.877.

So being charged £8.77 for 10 euros which is better than being charged £9.15 for 10 euros. (38p saved for every 10 euros. So 100 euros would have cost me £3.80 to withdrawal extra if i did manage the currency conversion)

When the screen asks you which option you want always select ' Without Dynamic Conversion'.

There will be no charge & the exchange rate is at or very near the commercial exchange rate 

Hope this is helpful as I love it I do not get charged 3 euros per cash withdrawal anymore.
