Going by your post you are not very technical, so I strongly suggest you get a specialist company to come and check it out. It could be a very simple fix or something serious but just guessing could be needlessly expensive.

Thank-you Peter, I am quite technical but not where A/C is concerned, the question still remains, in a building with pre installation of A/C would I need an inverter

Alike you, I am no expert on aircon but do know that a family member with an apartment in Puerto Marina had the built-in aircon fail at the height of last summer, with temps in the 40s and humidity at 90%! Fortunately it was still under guarantee but the main power board had gone, which would have cost him a few hundred Euro. Time to call in the experts IMHO. There is a good firm at the Arches in Los Narejos but check for any paperwork saying who supplied it and when.

Hello as Peter says you do need to have it looked at. I presume it has an error code on the display? If you did need to replace the condensing unit, outside bit, you need to make sure it is compatible with your indoor unit. There are units using different gases and control systems. If you tell me what the model number is and make I can tell you what the error code means.

Regards Steve

Ok if it does not switch on you need to check the power at the outside unit. Only do this if you are competent to check electricity. The cover will have to come off and you will need a voltage tester. Unless you have electrical qualifications I would strongly advise you to get it looked at.

Sorry can not help anymore then. As an AC engineer I assure you there will be an outside unit somewhere. My brother lives on a golf resort and the units are on his roof if that helps. Get it looked at. Would come and help but have not yet moved out to Spain.

Regards Steve

One question: are you renting or have you bought? If rent, pass the problem to the landlord; if bought then your best bet is to get in touch with the previous owner.
