Hi. We are looking to purchase a holiday home as soon as it's safe to travel. Hopefully this year. We had flights booked last June but could not travel due to covid. Any advice or information is welcome. I also wanted to know about health insurance. Do we just need holiday insurance when we are in Spain? Also maybe would like to rent property out during the summer months. Thanks

Holiday insurance is fine if you just come for a holiday! If you intend to rent out be aware of tax on income at 24% with no offset expenses. You would also need a tourist licence to legally rent your property.

You would also need a key holder to meet visitors and to inspect property at the end of rental. This person would also need to hold deposit and deduct any charges. The key holder would be the renters contact so any problems they would need to rectify or get a professional. Cleaners and laundry will need to be done before next rental.
