Hola

Yes I have been quoted from €1,400 to €1,600 per month for health insurance

just so I can apply for a RESIDENCIA   !!!!

OK, I have now stopped laughing at such a sum, HO what a bubble !!!

can anyone else offer some advice

I have asked for the S1 form, filled it in and posted it to the "Home Office"

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes? and what in fact is it?

Buy the way, I am 67  never been in Hospital  never been under the knife

not even seen a Doctor at least 10 years , I do not smoke, drink a glass of wine a day (honest)

teeth I had "kicked" out playing rugby 40 years ago, not even a cold for a few years

If you are a pensioner in the Uk the pension office will fill out the S1 form for you.

If you are applying for residency, take the S1 to the foreigners office at your Policia Nacional station with the other documentation. They should accept the S1 as proof of your right to healthcare in Spain.

If you are a pensioner you can access free healthcare. You need to fill-in your S1 and send it off as a start. We went through the process about seven years ago and it probably took us a couple of months to complete.

That must be a mistake.

In Sanitas for your age, 158 €/month without copayments.
