Hola I need a Lawyer   who can deal with  a car dealer

I bought a car from Specialist Vehicles  in San Javier on the 14th June 2019    within three weeks  the water pump failed  and the engine blew up

Specialist Vehicles will not refund my money (they say I should not have driven the car?)    and are asking that I pay for repairs

The car was not fit for purpose,   OK  no one can see a water pump failing     but after less than three weeks   I must have some recourse

Hi Yes you do have rights even buying privately the seller is required to give you a refund if the vehicle is not fit for the purpose. May I ask why you paid?

Hola   I had a very old Merc S420    that needed  brakes   and relays    with estimate for repairs  around €1,500

Specialist Vehicles    offered  €2,000  in part exchange     I had told them about the defects  with the Merc

they then wanted €950  but only in cash       the selling price of the MG TF    was €2,950

They still hold paper work to do with the sale    explaining  the sale  goes to   (I forget  some  offical in Murcia)

Is "Specialist Vehicles" a British run firm where English is spoken? If not, go back to them with someone to translate for you. State calmly what the problem is and what you wish them to do about it.

If you are not satisfied with their response, ask for a "Hoja de Reclamacion" form. This is a customer complaint form and all businesses in Spain have to have them. Here is a link with some good information:

Good luck.

They are British      To explain I bought an MG TF  on the 14th June

before buying I noticed a few "marks" in the paint  and wear on the hood     I found a hood in the UK   (did not bye) for  150 pound

the paint I could live with

One day I started the car and it made an awful noise (sounded as no oil on the tappets)     a few days later the stater motor jammed  (I had to rock the car)   then someone told me the brake lights had stuck on      then the airbag warning light stayed on

Monday 1st July   I was almost home   when I thought the (whatever gear I was in had disengaged)  later I found out it was the water pump

within  minutes  I had parked  and the car was just a "ball of steam"       I had the car picked up   and returned to Specialist vehicles

They will not refund  the amount I paid for the Car  €3,000    now ask me to pay for repairs

Thank you so much for your information
