Good afternoon,

Although it's almost 3 years away yet, my wife and I will be needing to renew our TIE cards in the middle  of 2025, does anyone know what we need to have in place prior to renewal. We are retired home owners, solely resident in Spain.

Thank you for any information .

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hi, yes we both have our credit card sized plastic TIE card, but it has an expiry date of five years from first point of being issued. We just want to be aware of any potential obstacles should qualifying rules change. Since leaving the European Union the conditions for British people wanting to live in Spain have become quite difficult to meet. We, of course have met those conditions but don't know if we are subject to new rules when trying to renew our cards. Obviously no need to hurry a reply as I have over 30 months yet.

I see, - thought you meant you had not changed your old style one yet.  I don't think anyone will be able to forecast any changes that might happen in the future things can change from year to year here.

That's fine then, as long as the unpredictability remains, we will know all is well..😂 Thank you
