ex Pats in calesparra

Hi - we have lived in Calasparra for nearly 12 years and love it.    It is a friendly place with the local Spanish people polite & helpful when needed.   Whilst it would help if you spoke a little Spanish a lot of the shop & bar staff do try to help with a little English - some speak more than others.  Good range of shops with Consum & Dia being the Supermarkets of choice here but in Cehegin, Mercadona is a recently re-furbished supermarket.   Consum do have some English products, tho' Iceland in San Javier is only an hour and 20 minutes away for greater choice of UK products.   If you are into exercise, a few Gym's are in the town.  Plenty of activities during the year with the main Fiesta in the 1st week of September.  smaller Fiestas/Parades occur throughout the year..   Not spoiled for choice on Bars or places to eat and whilst everyone will have their own favourite they are all good in their own right.  A couple of Museums, the Sanctuary is famous throughout Spain, plenty of wlaking routes and local towns to explore.   Hope you will be pleased you have bought here as we were and let us know if you want any more help or advice.
