Hello is there anyone out there ???

My wife and i are moving to Calasparra soon and thought we would ask for advice.

Posted 2 questions

1 asking for hints /advice regarding private healthcare insurance

2 asking for suppliers of tv/phone /internet in the area.

Don't believe that fellow Brits are that unhelpful so maybe not many are using this forum.

Hiya guys - just seen this otherwise would have replied sooner.  Hope that's not put you off living here !!!

If you are not retired and not elegible for Spanish Healthcare, speak to your Spanish Bank or if you want I know someone who had Private Healthcare and will find out for you. Let me Know.

Internet providers - a couple here.  TeleCalasparra or Redimer which we subscribe too 20mbps with a Static IP Address at 37euros a month.    Understand TeleCalasparra a re a bit cheaper but dont have 20mbps.

Can't help with Landline as we live on an Urbanisation and landlines themselves were not put in.  Understand  a few people did and it cost them quite a bit    We just have a Mobile from the Movistar shop - maximum coverage in this area and use Skype, Whatsapp or Messenger for calling to UK.

Post a reply if you want some more help and apologies for the delay in replying.....

Hello,

Thanks very much for your informative and helpful reply.

If its not too much trouble could you ask your friend about the healthcare please.

Seeing you mentioned asking the bank about healthcare you have prompted another question for advice from us.

Our lawyer seems to be pushing us towards using Bankia but I have read terrible reviews about them regarding lack of English on website among other things.

We quite like the look of Sabadell . Any comments would be welcome as some of this relocating is a bit nerve wracking for us.

Once again thankyou

Michael & Karen

Hi guys

Already posed the question to a friend for a company name and should be back to me tonight.

Regarding Banks - I am sure they all have their own for's a & against.

We use BBVA - we used them to finance our house purchase here from their UK Bank in London and we were so happy with the service got them to open and account here before we came over in 2008.   We had an account with small balance complete with Bank Cards on 1st visit to introduce ourselves.  The girl speaks good English and the Manager some.....more than he lets on !  I do know other Banks in Calasparra do have English Speakers - Santander do and that's about as much as I know regarding others.

Just got the reply from our friend and this is what he says in his email: "Sanitas is a big company, LaCaixa bank use them for their health insurance. We use ASSSA, however the individual(s) need to do some research and compare different company policies. One of the reasons we went with ASSSA was they said the clinics they use have English speaking doctors. They may on the coast, but not up here!!"

Hope all that helps and let me know if you need any more - quite happy to chat at our house if you want but will need a way to privately communicate as they do not like personal details to be displayed.
