Does anybody know how to get around the problem with film on being turned off after 3 mins. The new laws have changed the way we can watch uk tv. Is there a way of watching it without paying.

Hi Anthony

I put a post on here the other week asking the same, but as yet no one has responded.

From the research I have done, Filmon are now charging to watch, you only get 3 minute runs for free. I have tried to get other addons but at the moment they don't seem to work as they direct you to Filmon. Are you on Kodi 16.1 or 17.1?

I can still get films to run, but live UK TV is impossible. If anyone has found an add on that works, please let us all know. in the meantime I'll continue searching, if I find anything I'll post on here.

Filmon is now a subscription service for UK TV. There is no way around this so any of your favourite apps that use the filmon stream will have exactly the same problem.

There is an alernative, if somewhat limited selection of UK channels is tvcatchup.com

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately Filmon is on most streams, and I have tried some of the 'catchup' add ons but they require a VPN to work outside the UK. Do you know if this is the case with TVcatchup.com? I've looked at their website and they seem to suggest it's for use in the UK, which probably means you need a VPN to get it in Spain.

It's a very time consuming thing to put things on Kodi, I've just upgraded to 17.1. Useful to know if any forum members have got something that works for free, which it should be for UK licence payers!

We've had similar problems so now trying a reasonably priced VPN through UK

Proxy. Initially we struggled with Catch-up as it was always buffering but now I've reduced the screen resolution on the tv and it's working fine.

Pass, use your browser and type in the address.

There is an Android app for it on the website, download that.

Hi all

I use a VPN and have done for the past 18 months and find it very useful and get 2yrs for the price of 1

If anyone would like further details send me a private message with your e-mail and I will send you the link.

Kind regards

Ed

Hi Lizzie and Ed

I've tried to download TVcatchup.com with no success. It seems a VPN might be the answer and I would be grateful if you would let me know which service you subscribe to and your comments on performance etc.

Thanks, Rod
