My car is parked at Alicante Airport with Plane Parking.

The ITV runs out in early May 2021.

Looks like we are not going to get over there until perhaps July / August at the earliest.

What are other people doing in this situation ??

I know Plane Parking will get the ITV done for you but their charge of 110 euro is a bit over the top.

Plus the fact that my documents are in the UK !!

Hi Roland,

I,m in same boat but my car is in own garage at house, so will have to wait until over there. Does the Plane parking fee include cost of the itv (around 45€), if so then 50€ approx to them is not so bad. You are going to have to hire a grua anyway as you can't drive it to the itv station unlike UK you could drive it to a booked mot.

I have bigger problem due to Brexit not covid. We have done 2 ferry visits with own belongings to Spanish second home (non resident) and still have more to transport but now it has become a hastle, looks like we need to itemise, value and pay 21% iva and provide customs declarations with fees, so a simple roll on roll off is never going to happen ever again. Have read of horror stories of upto 3hrs queuing to get through customs and demands for more duties to be paid to get your goods through. I honestly don't know yet whether we will end up going by car instead of van as we will need a vehicle while we await itv appointment for Spanish car. I didn't want to have to sell our excess furniture in Uk but if costs to transport are extreme then a car journey with nothing taken is on the cards. Damn Brexit, didn't realise loss of freedom of movement didn't just apply to people but to belongings also. I,ve been waiting for any experiences from non residents taking own goods over but it may be a while before that happens due to covid restrictions.

Stay safe, and stay calm

Regards

Pauline

Thanks Pauline.

I have emailed PP to see exactly what is included in the 110 euro.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting your possessions to your house.

We always have our diesel car ITV and servicing carried out by Plane Parking  never had an issue yes it costs a bit more but when we are in Camposol we don't have worry about getting an ITV or service done which gives us more leisure time in the sun 🌞

Phil.

Thanks Phil.

I was thinking of not bothering having the ITV done until I got over there.

But then the thought occurred to me that PP might refuse to drive the vehicle to Alicante airport with an expired ITV.

I personally would swallow the cost and get it done. Hopefully if you scan and email car docs to them they will be acceptable to get the itv done.

Yes I think that's what I am going to do.
