We're looking to buy and want a pool and so have been looking at the Monsoras. I  was just wanting to know though how much getting a pool built would cost. We have looked at the Rebeccas and if we could get one with space to fit a pool ( end of terrace for example) this might be an option depending on cost.

Go to a swimming pool installer and get a quote, that's the only accurate way of finding out.

Thanks for the reply. We will be  back out in the New Year, is there anywhere you would recommend to go to?

No sorry. I personally wouldn't bother with the hassle of running a pool, but that's just my opinion. I would either ask for a recommendation from someone who's recently had one installed or search the internet for local installers and get at least three to come and have a look after you've moved in.

Better & less hassle to buy a villa with a pool or one that has access to a Communal Pool.

Communal Pool fees would be around 150 euro per year.

Costs for running your own pool could be 1500 - 2000 euro per year.

Approx. 20.000 euros depending on the size and 25.000 if you want the area around planted/tiled/decorated.

If you can afford it buy the villa on the biggest plot and have your own pool built to exactly what you want and with heating if you intend to swim for most of the year. Unless you are very hardy communal pools are only warm enough for two or three summer months we use our heating to extend the use to around 8 months of the year....its part of the reason we love living here!!
