Hello Everyone

We are new to this site as just had an offer accepted for a place on sector A and so we are the start of the process as only paid the deposit so far, so early days.

Out of curiosity, can members please tell us how they get to their villa once landed at either RMU or Alicante?

I know I can hire a car, but is that the only option really as no bus runs to Camposol from either airport does it  and Taxi prices seem mega bucks on looking online......

We will be travelling with our 6yr old Grandson who lives with us, but as he is Autistic we need a direct way from the airport to sector A if at all possible and of course as reasonable as possible ..........

Any advice would be terrific please.

Thank you!

Colin & Tina

Hi, try joining Camposol lift share. Then put when you're arriving, time etc and add willing to share or pay fuel costs.

Hi Donna54

I didn’t know there was a sharing service, not sure if that would work for us though as you know what Autistic kids can be like with strangers etc…but it is an idea I would never have known about- so Thankyou for your tip!

Its worth buying a car and using one of the companies to park it by the airport whilst you are not here. In the long run works out cheaper than hiring taxis. There was a bus service but not very regular from rmu airport to A. Not sure if it has started up again.

Getting to and from both airports to the area you have purchased is not easy and I'm surprised you have got that far with your purchase without making this sort of inquiry first. However, that is your business, but I think you should be made aware that the owners of private vehicles used frequently as 'taxis' are penalized heavily if caught by the authorities, and many have over the years. ANPR is used these days and you can't argue with that. Passengers are not insured in such cases, so is it worth the risk? The odd favour shouldn't be a problem, but anything organised is asking for trouble.

Hello rma44

Thankyou for your post.

Don’t get me wrong, I had searched transfer first and knew it wasn’t easy.

We will not be going out loads and I had always planned to hire a car when we do go.

However, I just posted on the forum to see what individuals did who have had properties a long time, just to see if anyone knew of other ways to get to their properties that I didn’t know about, as that is the point of a forum isn’t it.

The awkwardness to get to Camposol is another reason it is cheap to buy their, and I know that, but funds would not stretch to Malaga and we do not want an apartment in Alicante, so you get what you get don’t you.

I appreciate your thoughts still.

Thank you

Colin

I'd definitely hire a car at Corvera Airport for a couple of weeks to find your feet, then assess what works best for you, think buses from airport only go to the port of mazarron, then have to get another bus up to Camposol, alot of hassle. Good luck on your house purchase and enjoy Spain 🇪🇸

No problem. What I will add though, a car is essential in that region. I always drive down for long stays and hire if I fly for shorter periods. I don't have a property at Camposol but I know the area very well and even getting from one part to another will be a problem without a car, especially in the heat of summer.

Good luck with your venture.
