Been here for a while, ok owners love their dogs, why should those that do not have dogs , be mentally tormented by their incessant barking, you can’t relax or enjoy your holiday ? Kids make so much less noise than these dogs, that ex pats have rescued, honestly it is mental torment !

The worst aspect of living in Spain is barking dogs, they are a menace, most Spaniards seem to have at least one mad dog that bark endlessly. Many are left alone and bark through boredom. I love Spain but the mad dog issue is one of very few negative points.

Hello,

We are planning to buy a home and we have a little papillon female dog. Is it everywhere so noisy with barking dogs?

Unfortunately yes. If you come to Spain you have to put up with it.

No it isn’t. I live in a terraced property and  have two dogs living next door, three nearly opposite and another living next door but one I and don’t suffer incessant barking. My neighbours simply wouldn’t allow it!

Completely agree, we live on D Sector with a few neighbours with dogs, never hear a sound and not sure that we ever hear barking dogs often at all

always 2 sides to a story

No.

We have three dogs. They came with us from the UK and are all getting on in years.

They will bark if the doorbell rings. That's a good thing.
They will bark if a Cat comes into our garden. That happens occasionally. The Cats don't learn or don't care.
They will bark at the back door to be let in. They are never left out while we are out of the house.
They WILL bark if someone comes onto our property. That's a good thing.

Occasionally our smallest one (10 yrs old) will have a shouting match with our next door neighbour's dog. I stop that by telling him to go inside.

MOST of the time it is quiet and peaceful on our bit of Camposol A.

Dogs left outside all the time will bark incessantly. They are distressed, may be overheated and uncomfortable.

The barking in that case is not the Dog's fault. It's the owners. Why have a Dog if you're not going to engage with it?

Thank you. I am not worried, I love all animals , but I thought it was a big problem.

But hey, people always make big problems of everything ☺️

I hope it all goes well
