Hi all we are considering buying a place on Campasol on the outer perimeter as we like a touch of rural.  Do you think, if we have a little garden we can bring our 4 chickens?  They are not Roosters so don't crow at 4.30 in the morning, God forbid!  We keep them for free-range eggs and that's all.  They are also very tame and like to have a little roam over the road, hence we want to buy a place opposite a bit of wasteland! We also like to share our gorgeous eggs with our neighbours.

I can't comment on the legality of keeping poultry on Camposol, but I would advise caution with regard to letting them roam.

There ARE foxes in the area and also the occasional feral dogs and cats. There are Boars too ! They're not totally vegetarian !

Your chickens would make a nice snack for them.

Crikey, wild boars too!  they'd love some nice tender chicken, thanks for your reply.

I might have to rethink this one!

Hiya - if you are planning to bring them from the UK there will be restrictions on the movement of livestock - it may be better to find them a new home in the UK and to get chickens here when you are ready - maybe a run to live in when they are not under your observation

Thank you so much, Pippa, we did have chickens in the UK and had to leave them with the new owner of our house in Essex (worst thing I ever did! Say no more on that subject :(  )  But we now live in Spain and our rescue chickens are so happy. Thats why I don't want to leave them again x

PS We have a lovely run and barn that we can bring with us x

Hi, I think that’s great, you just have to put them away at night because on the wasteland and the mountains in and around Camposol are foxes. In Camposol are many cats but I don’t think they kill chickens.

We don’t live on the edge but I would love to hold chickens. I have one chihuahua and 2 cats 😂😂 so better nothing that looks like birds. Good luck in Camposol. I don’t think anybody will complain but you never know 🐓🐓🐐🐖

Regards, Julia ❤️
