Hi,

I’m hoping to buy a property in Camposol early next year. I want to bring my shi tzu over with me. Does anyone know which airlines transport pets from Manchester to Murcia/Alicante (direct flight) I’ve only found TUI fly to Alicante. Are there anymore?

Thanks

Jul

Hi

We had same problem bringing our two cats with us, a couple of years ago,

Found plenty to arrange everything, but expensive and we wanted to travel with the pets. Only TUI was able to arrange and we came on the flight from Manchester to Alicante with them. Was a long day for the cats, we had to drop them at the freight terminal about 4 hours before flight, they have to go into the hold, then collect from freight at Alicante, this was about an hour after we cleared customs.

One of our cats seemed fine but the younger one was stressed also no food for around 8 hours only water, We then had the 2 hour journey in the car to get to our place.

Overall I would do it again because it’s the shortest time to get from UK to Spain, but don’t think I would want the pets to go through a long road  or ferry journey, but dogs maybe cope better.

Regards Paul

Hi Paul

Thanks for your reply. Like you say, lots of companies to arrange the transfer from a few airports in the UK. Up to now I’ve been quoted £1,331 from Manchester to Alicante with TUI. I’m waiting for the owner of this particular company to come back to me with a quote from Alicante airport as to how much they will want to receive her and their fees, didn’t realise it was so expensive 🙈

Thanks

Jules

Hi Jules

Just had a look we paid £834 for both cats all in fees both ends.

Then we had to pay for our one way flights with TUI as we were travelling on same plane

I can send you details of who we used if you want, they have to be in approved pet carrier, which if you need to, you can buy from same company. Obviously need passport for pet.

Anything else, let me know

Paul

Hi Paul

Thanks again for your email. I would be really grateful for any help/ information that you could give me.

My friends have given me the dog/ pet crate that they used to bring back their dog from Cyprus to the Uk. So that’s good.. at least I know it fits the criteria for pet air travel. Also it’s the perfect size for my shi tzu as our dogs are very similar in size and weight.

Like yourselves I want to be on the same flight as  coco to Alicante. So any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Jules
