Bank in U.K. and Spain?

We have kept a Santander account in UK using our Spanish address and phone number…everything done online so no problems

We have no problems with Nat West

Same for us, we were told, however, that without an UK address we would not be able to open any new accounts in the UK so to make sure not to close the ones we have.

I believe that is correct as since moving to Spain, we have been able to keep existing UK accounts but are not able to open new ones. 

All below are correct I believe. I have two accounts with different banks in UK - no problem but I did see sense in visiting both banks (in person when I was there) and changing my address details to my Spanish address - which is the way to go re money laundering etc. as, if you are not living in a UK property but use it re renting etc., albeit on-line it is not official or legal as you have to declare your place of residence outside of UK. Still a lot of people are going under the radar on this one. Both my banks sent me official forms to complete confirming my place of residence.

Our pensions are paid into the UK banks.

No problems at all. We manage everything online.

I transfer funds from the UK to Spain via Wise. Simple.

The Spanish tax man will want to know about your UK accounts. :)

All declared re Declaration 720 providing all information regarding the accounts. The issue here is about notifying your UK banks that you are residents of Spain, living in Spain and your official address in Spain not simply using your UK accounts via on-line which I do also but have followed the correct procedure.

Have I misread your post, or did you imply that perhaps I hadn't followed correct procedure?

1. Our UK accounts have been declared on the form 720 to the Spanish Tax authority

2.  We are fiscal residents in Spain (compulsory if permanently resident after 6 months).

3. Advising the UK banks of our Spanish address & residency status was simple.

Really don't want to get into this but think - have you completed the necessary form and advised your UK banks of your Spanish official address. That is all I am saying on this subject.
