Transferring direct debits to Wise Euro Account
Good morning.
I’m going to open a new WISE EUR account but how do you get all the direct debits that pay your Electric, water, solicitors accounts transferred over to your new Wise account?
Thanks

You will need to contact all the companies in Spain & give them your Wise bank account details.
There is no switching service like in the UK.
Be aware that some Spanish companies will tell you that you have to use a Spanish IBAN number.
You most certainly do not

My Solictor said they wouldnt accept Wise for Non Residents Tax so I have agreed for another Company to do Non residents Tax alot cheaper than Solictor.Only one I am abit wary is council tax I did get response but had to translate did have Wise Account details on response back so🤞as that wont debit until June. Its not like UK banks where you can check that it's set up ready.Wise will send notification when they take payment out of the account.
I am afraid your solicitor is talking rubbish & misleading you.
Of course you can pay your non resident tax from your Wise euro account.
I've just done this with my utility DD's moving them to Revolut.
Iberdrola, Hidrogea mobile phone provider were on the ball having processes in place for dealing with non "ES" prefixed IBANS. Their websites might not offer the ability to enter your new account number but they will send you a pdf SEPA DD authorisation form to fill in.
Movistar/Telefonica tell me that they cannot, yet, accept a non-Spanish IBAN - despite it being an EU regulation from 2002 !

Thanks for this.
Revolut have a similar page - but don't include links to competent national authorities nor the Wise sponsored, and Revolut supported, reporting website.
Cheers 'n' Beers

I think Emuasa water Company advised me it has to be a Spanish Bank Account I could only change Direct Ďebit to.I replied back to them Wise Accept Sepa Direct Debits and I would report them to Wise. They then sent response back they would do it.

Nice result.
Looks like being persistent works !!
I have been reading all the replies to this thread with great interest, having paid quarterly charges to Sabadell for far too long and have now downloaded the Wise app!
One question however.... cash?!! If I cancel my bank account completely and rely solely on Wise does this mean that I need to access a hole in the wall for my cash requirements... presumably the answer has to be yes?!
Can anyone tell me, is there a (expensive?) charge for withdrawals, and how readily available are cash machines that accept the Wise card?
Cheers,
Kevin
