Hi all

Thinking of using transferwise as lots of recommendations

Wonder if you can all help

Not sure of how this works

Do you use transferwise to move money from uk account to Spanish bank account and then pay for property and then bills from Spanish bank account or do you use transferwise like a bank account and they pay the money to the solicitor , estate agent etc and provide direct debit service ?

Hope you can help clarify

Mostly, you would use Transferwise to move money from your UK bank account to your Spanish bank account and, if needed, grant your Spanish lawyer (abogado) power of attorney to set up and where necessary pay your bill payments. Hope this helps.

We use Transferwise to put money in our Spanish bank account and also to pay our solicitors directly when purchasing our property.  Spanish banks charge for transfers to solicitors so cheaper to pay directly.

I have used Transferwise for many years.

Easy to use & goods rates.

Money is in Spanish bank the next day or sometimes earlier.

I just top up my Spanish bank account as & when necessary to pay direct debits.

If I have a large one off bill to pay I use Transferwise to pay that bill direct.

We use transferwise to top up our spanish bank account for bills, direct debits etc but as for paying for our property, we used a company in London called IFX, fantastic. You pay the equivalent of what you need to pay your property into IFX account, tell them your spanish solicitors account number and the date you want the money to go over and they do the rest, no fee and highest rates. Couldn't fault them
