Hi can someone explain to me why I have had two ferry trips booked March and this month June , cancelled due to virus, but every time I try and book another ferry they try and get over £100 Than the last cancelled fare, original fare was £300 in March this one in June was £429, and now looking online they want well over £500 for a single trip and single person, why can they not honour their voucher and give us ferry for voucher price,to me this is a rip off, you book, they cancel, you pay more,

the fare would have been higher for trips in peak season, so just business practice

I think this will be the case with all the "refund" vouchers, including Ryanair etc. The voucher will at least subsidise the fare cost, and neither Ryanair or Britanny Ferries caused the lockdown. If you had had an urgent reason to get back to the UK you could have got the British Embassy to give you a permit to travel on a freight ferry, much earlier in this process - not sure at what cost though.

Not the company's fault either. This is a global crisis and there are far greater concerns than flight/ferry costs.

Well we have given up because they cancelled my first booking 24th June after taking the money. They offered me a voucher and Before I booked again( because they could not guarantee me a booking would be available on the 28th) I tweeted someone who had the same problem. He said that the first booking he could get was the 5th July because all the previous dates were full.

So we have decided to drive down to the tunnel

I'm not sure but it might be that they are reducing numbers because of the social distance rules and they want to make up for lost income. I usually use P & O but I haven't bothered looking at sailings yet because of the lockdown in all countries. I do expect fares to be higher including air fares, when we are allowed to travel.
