Wanted: House
Hi I and my husband are looking to move to Spain and have been looking at Camposol. The houses are very good value - is there a "catch" so to speak? Are they built well? I would appreciate your feedback. Regards Alison

Very helpful member
Hi there,
It depends what you are looking for in your new life in Spain. If you are looking to integrate into Spanish life, this may not be the place for you. If, however you are looking for a predominantly British urbanisation, it may suit you. Like all large villages/small towns, there is the good, the bad and the ugly. There are some houses and streets that have problems and on the other hand there are some lovely properties. Because of the history of the urbanisation, there are many volunteer groups and charities that were set up and there will be help if you need it. There is a charity called MABS that provides support for people with cancer, Age Concern, which speaks for itself, and many others supporting people and animals.
The best advice I can give you is to rent here for as long as you can and see for yourselves if it is for you. There are four different sectors and you would need to see if you prefer the sectors with the shops, bars and restaurants, or the quieter life, away from these facilities. There are over 4,000 houses here. The vast majority are built from concrete blocks, although there are others of a more traditional build. There are issues on some sectors with unfinished roads and a lack of public lighting. There are also about 450 houses that have been built on public land and people have had difficulties obtaining mortgages on these. Having said that, there are thousands of people, who live here happily and enjoy the facilities and the opportunity to still be able to communicate in English. As I say, come over and stay for as long as you can.
Good luck and I hope this helps?

Hi thank you so much for your very kind and informative reply. We are looking for a quieter place so which ever sector that is would suit us. We are moving to live there with my two sons 21 and 25. My husband is Spanish.
I don't really want to rent as it will deplete our savings. We do not need a mortgage We are selling our house in the UK.
It is nice to know there is a support system in place and we wouldn't know anyone so that would help. Also my two sons would hopefully integrate well.
Thank you again
Kindest regards
Alison

Hi
We bought a villa on sector D
Great house great road and good neighbourhood so far.
There will always be issues or problems in such a large area with houses .
We did not rent saw the house and bought it.
Couple of problems with fixtures but you have to accept spending money on your villa.
We have our title deeds and all well.
Get a good lawyer to check everything.
Enjoy and all the best
