You need to pre-order a Day 2 & Day 8 test pack for each person travelling before you arrive in the UK (Border Control will ask to see proof of purchase).
There are many providers shown on the gov.uk website and if you shop around, you will find the cheapest is about £120pp.
As Spain is still on the Amber list, you need to complete the Passenger Locator Form and quarantine for 10 days after arrival. Recent reports from friends and on other forums indicate that the Test & Trace process is more pro-active now - my friends were phoned every day and were also visited at home to check they were self-isolating.
The Day 5 test is an additional cost and allows you to be released from quarantine early if you are negative, but you still need to have purchased the Day 2 & Day 8 pack.
Hope this helps!
Hi we managed to get day 2 and 8 tests (at home unsupervised) for £80 with RT Diagnostics, booked through the gov. Co. UK website. That and the antigen test to leave Spain at €20. Be very careful re the gov. Co. UK website as myself and partner were looking at the same time and it was bringing up random options, orders and prices for the same things. Also, some are quoting £70 for day 2 and 8 tests but when you get to paying, it's £70 per test. My eyes were opened as to how much a shocking con it is, based on the random order of availability and options searches were returning. Best if luck 🤞
Hi
Couple days ago, my friend travelled from Stansted to Alicante and back.
On the way back to UK, she paid 40€ for antigen test and she ordered trough Ryanair website the test for day 2 and day 8, 85€ for both.
My friend is back in the UK, everything went ok.

Helpful member
The 5 day test is a waste of money, believe me it will be Day 10 before you get the result if you ever do, its a massive rip off as I know to my recent cost. Just book the cheapest provider, do your 10 days, prepare to be ripped off and curse Boris!

Hi
Sorry to ask but is this ‘Rayner’ or should it be ‘Ryanair’ ?
Thanks for info
Why blame Boris. Tests are required and supply and demand dictate the prices
Or should all and sundry be allowed into the UK from anywhere totally untested...?

It should be a requirement to have a negative test before entering the country. But then the option should be to take further tests or home quarantine, not both - it's illogical to have to do both. The only reason both are required is because the government has not implemented an effective quarantine system. They are using resources to knock on doors and force tests on people with no symptoms rather than use these resources to ensure people are home quarantining. The processes are ridiculous and if you tried to implement something so inefficient in the private sector you'd lose respect pretty quickly :)

Johno, Ryanair use a company called Randox at 50% reduction. Just go onto their website
