Hola camposol forum members, just wondering what is the situation in camposol concerning this god dam virus. I am due to take ferry to Santander on 24th of this month, and when docked take a Spanish registered car straight to the itv centre after 7 pm when boat docks to get itv done, then head to a booked hotel in Santander for the night, then next morning drive down to camposol, but not stopping anywhere near madrid. Then need to register car in my name when in camposol but not sure if registered office are open or closed, then supposedly flying back 12th April from Alicante if easy jet still flying, sorry to go on but no good news here on spain or camposol, do I stay cancel, or go for it, all sensible advice excepted.

The current lockdown runs past your dates. So you know: "

All residents and tourists in the Mar Menor area, including San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Los Alcázares, La Unión, Cartagena, Águilas and Mazarrón  are now required to self-isolate due to the arrival en masse of people from inland regions of Spain with high infection rates.

Freedom of movement has been cancelled, essential travel, work travel is allowed or to go the supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open. Please only send one-person shopping, not the family.

People will also be able to attend health centres and hospitals but will require an appointment and apparently walk their dogs. (I have not verified this last element.).

Murcia president Fernando López Miras said bars, restaurants, pubs, discos and leisure facilities are now closed for two weeks.

He warned that the police will be patrolling the streets to check that people stay at home."

What do you think you should do?

Add to that that Jet2 flights already on way to spain are being recalled  mid-air. That's for the mainland, Balearic and canary islands.

@Jtb the OP.........

You should wait for your flights or ferry crossings etc to be cancelled by the companies concerned.

That way you 'should' get a refund or alternatives.

JTB The lockdown is until the 27th/28th, but no-one can say for sure whether those 14 days will be extended. I believe the 14 days is due to what is allowed as per the Spanish constitution. That said, even if the lockdown is lifted AND you manage to get to Spain successfully, Camposol is in the municipality of Mazarron, which is in lockdown, if residents can't go out, do you think you can get in??

It's forgiveable to be in denial about how big a deal this is, but when it affects you directly, you soon have a stronger opinion about what is appropriate and wonder how on earth people can prioritise their holiday and the possibility of losing some money over being responsible. In case you weren't aware there is quite a large ageing population in this area. I urge you to think carefully about your decision - although to be honest I think the decision will be made for you.

Are the car registration offices all closed too as need to change a Spanish reg car I brought in Uk to my name. And get it itv’d which I was hoping to do on 25th off this month in Santander soon as I get off ferry, at 7pm as saying online itv centre open till 9 pm, but are they open or closed due to this virus, god this has really thrown the spanner in the works, as could get the virus here or Spain or not at all. Any bees in registering car would be a help too thanks

Are you actually joking?? I assume you are aware that the measures are in place to protect everyone, not just yourself? I fear I maybe wasting my breath here. I hope you stay safe and well, all the best.

I am trying to stay safe, but the virus can get me here as well. There is no where safe now, if I need to cancel I will, but life has to go on, but all advice taken and will see nearer the date what decision to make thanks for your input.

Jtb.....the 14 day lock down ends on the 28th, (if it ends that day)..based on the worlds reaction to the virus I’d be surprised if are allowed to travel by ferry to Santander on the 25th as you have planned.

You are probably better of looking to reschedule your journeys and stay at home until the situation improves (as I and a lot of others have done), where you will have all of the support you may need (fingers crossed you remain well) but it’s foolhardy to set out on your trip in light of what is going on....

But if you travel good luck with it all....

Anni
