Hi, people’s of Camposol,... I have just purchased a property on sector A, and will be coming out , the first or second week of December to sign the final papers etc....as I am over 70years old, I find I cannot hire a vehicle from Alicante airport,(ageism!)...that notwithstanding, is there a way to put some euros in the pocket of a resident, who could collect me, and possibly, return? I have not finalised the details of my visit, but, rest assured, it will be during “office “ hours.  Thanks for reading, regards, Ruggy

What you are suggesting is totally illegal.

Please don't ask people to break the law.

I am sorry to hear that!..... I have lived in Spain, several times, and it was common knowledge, that if you had a friend who could take you to the airport, and paid for his time and fuel, ...that was perfectly acceptable, ..perhaps not to taxi drivers,... but it’s a classic case of “who” you know, and not what !

If you want a legal transfer company then Mark Griffiths at Condado Taxi is very reliable. You can contact him on 622 714 979 or 693 790 014 or [email protected]

good luck

If you can afford a house you have no reason not to pay a legal licensed driver.

Thanks for your advice, .... I was led to believe that Corvera airport  was the airport to use, to enable easy and short trips back and to, the uk,.... unfortunately, the cost of using this airport vastly outway regular trips,

So Alicante airport is the best but defeats the purpose of flying to and fro, reasonably cost effective, as the taxi fare compounds the price for travelling many times a year. Again thanks for your advice, I am still looking into the details and cost. Regards,

The reason I can afford a house in Camposol is because I seek out the most cost effective conclusion,

Regards,

It's certainly NOT cost effective if you use an un licenced taxi & you are involved in an accident !!

The person providing the un licenced taxi will also have their vehicle confiscated & receive a massive fine.

Times have changed..........

I am not using an unlicensed taxi!..... I am asking a friend to take me to the airport!.... I have done this many, many times, ...are you saying that if you had friends coming to visit, you would not meet them at the airport, and also tell them to pay € 200 for the taxi, as you are not insured to transport friends and acquaintances?   ..... I think not!.... your right....times have changed..... I remember the days when you did favours and helped your fellow man.... not spend their time on these silly computers, telling people how not to run their own lives .

Your original post asked for a 'resident' to do an airport transfer for a fee

That's touting for an illegal taxi !!
