Sorry to tell you Irish drivers also need green card to visit Northern Ireland and the "good old UK" .

Green card is nothing to do with your driving license.......it's insurance, and that is required in any country where you take your own car. Members of the EU are exempt if traveling within the EU, but insurance companies don't usually charge for it anyway. Just apply for it in time for your travel.

Irish drivers do not need a green card to cross the border in Ireland. There was talk of it but the insurance companies didn't go with that idea.

PeterC, very good comment and funny 😂. Roland, I guess, has put his house in order. So follow his footsteps.

Garypatterson58, it's nice to have sense of humour, laugh or smile by not taking things so seriously. You take the advice that you require and ignore the rest. Personal direct comments on other's post could be unproductive.

We are allowed to say something stupid sometimes, that's why there is a platform forum to express views without being critical of one another.

We are considering moving to Spain this year and we are just doing our research into possible issues in the future, after 31 December 2020, but have every faith in the UK Government, ironing out a lot of issues (especially those which we feel will affect us, health insurance, pet travel, pensions etc), but I have no doubt majority of the status quo will carry on, as I am sure the Spanish Government, won't want to upset the status quo which exists now between our countries.  Having said that, I will keep doing my research on what questions/issues matter to my and my boyfriend and we will make our informed decisions at the time.  However, I still do like reading the various posed questions and responses.  All information is helps and we can dissimilate accordingly.  Anyway, enjoy the night.

Hope you're right but

 a) I can't see the point of Brexit if everything is going to stay the same.

b) It won't be a Spanish government decision but an EU wide agreement where the majority won't be concerned with UK citizens rights.

But we live in hope 🤔.
