Do not see why a Tory victory should be seen as "devastating"......?

To date, nothing has been agreed or decided. I think we all know how much the Spanish economy relies on tourism and money from ex Pat's into their economy so I am firmly of the opinion that a reasonable agreement will be identified

Of course there maybe some changes to the rules and fees for things like visas etc. however, I cannot believe that they would be significant enough to deter the business that they rely on from the UK visitors

A labour victory would have been worse, we would be kept in limbo for another couple of years until they sorted another referendum, probably exchange rates hovering around 105 euro to the pound, as they are now they're around 118 to the pound.

Frequentflyer, I am not talking about politics here but just mentioning how it's gonna affect most of us regarding those would no longer be viewed as EU citizens.

The matter of the case is that there are many unknown facts that still need to be ironed out between UK and Brussels. Just to be aware that we are all in this BOAT together, and maybe, STORMY weather ahead....

...

People should now start to put their plans together after BREXIT. How is it going to affect the individual and what would be the resolutions to questions or problems that some of us might face in the near future.

If you have any advice with regards to the effects that we may experience after Brexit, kindly share it with us.

Quite right Fem90. I wonder how many non-resident Brits who have property in Spain and can currently come and go as they please, know about ETIAS, that will be coming into force very soon. As non-EU citizens and non-residents of an EU country, Brits visiting within the EU and the Schengen area will have their travel strictly controlled to 90 days within any 180 days on a rolling basis. This will affect all those who currently come to Spain to spend the entire winter here.

Here is an easy way to calculate your proposed visiting plans.

PeterC, you've got to be optimistic in the political world as you can't trust them. As we all may be aware of, the in-trays got BoJo is full of:

1.  Immigration and terrorism as a result of the stabbing in London recently.

2. NHS, the money pledged is a little bit short of what is needed. NHS is in crisis.

3. Social Care system is in shambles.

4. Scotland is now screaming for another  referendum.

5. Brexit, of course, another 12 months for discussion.

BoJo will try to railroad his plans by 31st Jan 2020, which of course is his top priority.

Let's hope things would work out the way that we expect.

Anything said or promised yesterday is probably a history.

What we are concerned about the EU citizenship, to enjoy the same rights as we have always have

Living in the EU: prepare for Brexit

All's well, so far - and we never did have voting rights after 15 years anyway!

So it's "Back-to-the-Stone-Age-with-Boris!" - It kinda reminds me of that Cher hit-song "if I could turn back time"!

Why the negativity....?

A second clear outright victory and someone with the will to stand up to Germany and France who think they can just tell everyone what to do

Far too many underestimate exactly how much money the uk brings to Europe and whether they like it or not thay simply cannot afford to ignore us

There will be changes, inevitable, but I would argue they will not be as bad as many feel

UncleAlan, "if I could turn back the time", we would all be dancing.

CFC1905, Happy New Year with positive vibrations. We have to be on the ball, know what's happening and what the EU and UK are thinking that might affect us.  That's the essence of this discussion.

I think, as we are so knowledgeable on this platform forum, we should have Camposol MP to represent our interests in Brussels.

Roland, Christine75, what do you think?
