I am looking to bring some Xmas food for personal consumption from UK to Spain like cake pudding mince pies etc.is it permissable ?
No meats, dairy(butter, milk products and no cheese) no fresh fruit or veg. Mincemeat OK. We take chutneys, sauces, tea and coffee.

I would think so, never tried but they, ll be processed and wrapped, as opposed to "fresh fruits) so why would they ban them. Our chutneys are fruit based but cooked and processed so similar. The banned foods are mostly against fresh foods but even tinned meats are banned (corned beef, ham etc). If you, re not taking a car full of food they probably won't even look.

Pauline.

You don’t mention how you’ll be travelling. If flying back it’s very likely your case will be inspected. We travelled back with the same stuff a few years ago without a problem but our case had been checked - all the items we brought back were in branded packaging - boxes and a tin.

“travelled back with the same stuff a few years ago without a problem” but that was pre-Brexit…

I used to travel Back and forth very regularly on the ferry, I know a long Time ago but during foot and mouth when they would try and check everything, I always had an electric ice box in the back with legs of lamb , gamnons and all the food not easy to obtain in Spain.
I always had sandwiches and sweets next to me and when asked if I had any food would always say "yes I have
sandwiches for the journey, is that ok" the answer was always yes no problem have a good trip 🙂

I drove back from the UK to France in August via the ferry with some illegal foodstuffs (sausages, etc). Force of habit I guess. We were pulled over by security/Customs in Dover, but they weren't looking for foodstuffs, just dangerous materials or explosive devices. They saw the food cooler in the boot, but didn't do anything.

Surely there is an Iceland nearby save you alot of hassle if they stop you at customs.
