Hi, we are thinking of moving to Spain (camposol) with our 5 year old and wanted some Opinions/advice on the matter. We know there’s a lot to sort out now after brexit, nie-work visa-visa-tie-residency-driving but are struggling with the info online some sites are saying you can’t sort everything out when you arrive you need to do it in England and others are saying you need to be there to sort everything out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

If you are applying for a visa “post Brexit” in other words you were not living in Spain before 31st December 2020, and are not seeking a family visa under the withdrawal agreement, you will need to apply from the UK. The official Spanish government website can be found at https://www.immigrationspain.es/en/non-lucrative-residence-visa/

There are very specific financial requirements, and other specific requirements if you plan to work here.

If you do a Google search on NLV Spain, you will see a list of hundreds of companies offering their services to people in your situation. If you do the same search on Facebook, you will find several groups set up to also help with applications.

I can’t give specific suggestions as we emigrated under the old system.

Good luck and hope this helps

If you do a search on the main forum page, for NLV, you will find several long threads on the subject, all of which give helpful information and hints.

Hi Richhied,

you mentioned that you are moving with a 5 year old child. I don’t live in Camposal but from what I’ve gathered over the years reading about it on this forum I believe it is mainly made up of retirees, something that may need further exploration.

You will need to prove you will not be a drain on Spain's resources.  What are your job skills? Do you speak Spanish etc etc.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Looks like a nice area and we’d heard and read a lot about it.

No not yet it’s next on the list. We are looking else where now as well. That are looking better for work and schools!
