Sworn translator

We successfully completed the NLV process in May.

Our solicitor translated (and, where required, provided Sworn translations) for all our documents. I had previously enquired about Sworn translation and found that companies charged around £30 per page for documents.

You will need a notary (most solicitors are also notaries) to notarise this and other documents; then the Hague Apostille is a government service, which will cost £30 per document, with a turnaround time of approx. 10 days.

Hi , this is exactly what I need. Do you know where I can get this service done. As we are now back in UK to get this service done but can not find an notary in UK to apostle and who do I go to to get the Hague stamp officiated. Hope you can help as just don't know where to go. Thanks 

I would suggest you google 'sworn translation' services. The checklist of forms that you should have got from the consulate that you will use, tells you which forms need to have 'sworn translations'.

Most solicitors will have a notary service - our UK solicitor notarised all the forms that we needed notarised for £25 per person, but many will charge per form. A solicitor does not do the apostille.

I am confident in dealing with bureaucracy, etc. however we used a Spanish solicitor to help us with all this, which I would certainly recommend, as its important that you get everything absolutely correct. I'm happy to advise, but I'm not a professional or expert in this area...

Thank you this is very helpful. I looked up sworn translator but there is so many and some say they only do translate and some other parts. So if I got this right I need a sworn translator who is ATA registered. Then I take the translated documents to my solicitor who will notary them. Then I send them off to be apostle. Can I ask who did you use for your sworn translator as I am getting mixed msg from some with prices from £15 to £250 per document. Thank you for all of your help 😄

I had previously enquired about Sworn translation and found that companies charged around £30 per page for documents - so I guess you just need to shop around.

I believe that you would need your documents notarised and then Apostilled first, then translated.
