Morning all, has anyone had a flight cancelled, early April, been promised (in writing) refunds and then been sent a link to change your date of travel only? Telephone lines (tried 3 different ones) not manned and a minuscule message only discovered on their web sight now saying we will only get a refund after the virus passes.

Didn’t think even Ryanair could stoop this low.....😡

Thanks in Advance

Yes I have had a flight cancelled by Ryanair it was supposed to be on April 14 to Alicante.

I was sent an email informing me of the cancellation & telling me I could apply for a full refund or change the flight.

I clicked on Full Refund & received an email telling me I would receive a full refund within 20 days as was my right under EU Reg 261 ( which was attached to the email )

The 20 days were up yesterday & I received another email telling me to accept a voucher or wait until the Covid 19 pandemic was over & I could then have a refund to my credit card !!

I am NOT having that !!

A voucher might help Ryanair's cash flow but it does not help mine one bit.

Paid by credit card so contacted my card company & I am doing a charge back for 'None supply of goods or services'

We will see what happens.....................

Yes, we have received the same. We have another flight booked for the end of May, having already changed it from March without any admin fee. Who knows whether that will fly, unlikely I think so we will have that to claim for too.

Realistically, Ryanair will hope to survive so will cut their outgoings to a minimum. That's just sensible from a business point of view. If they don't survive until the end of this, I doubt there will be any refunds and vouchers surely will be worthless.

Yes vouchers & refunds might become worthless that's why I am doing a chargeback.

Exactly, it’s put the tin lid on it for me as they changed my flight Last year to a different day and I had to pay for another nights accommodation at a different resort as there was absolutely no occupancy anywhere and a taxi fare back to the airport to collect my hire car  the day after as I couldn’t change my hire agreement... couldn’t change my flight as it was my brothers birthday. They are absolute crooks... Maybe I should call my credit card company...... been deliberating for a couple of weeks..

I totally agree all airlines are going to struggle, it’s just the lies and way Ryanair operate, must have the best lawyers in the world to wriggle out of everything. Why aren’t they taken to task... I suppose bigger fish to fry at the mo...

I always use my credit card too... it’s just the lies they come out with telling you one thing, then another then something completely different!  As they were Easter Flights they weren’t cheap either so would defo prefer my money back!!

Ryanair have over 4 BILLION euro's cash reserves.

Easyjet have over 3 BILLION euro's cash reserves.

A voucher is worth absolutely NOTHING.

EU regulation EU261 is absolutely clear about refunds.

It is the law...............
