Hi All,

We own a place in El Alamillo which was originally purchased for holidays, however we are now seriously looking into a permanent move there and rent our UK home. Could anyone give us information on English speaking schools for my 14 year old daughter in Puerto de Mazarron (also any associated costs for this)?.

She mixes well and so hopefully we can have as seamless a transition as possible.

Secondly, although we have private pensions, we would be using savings to live there so what is the taxation situation on NOT drawing pensions until a good ways down the line (5-7 years).

Thanks in advance..

Thanks for your reply,  yes it is a bit f a complicated issue, but several friends over there have more or less said the same regarding loopholes etc. I will be flying over in the next couple of weeks so will get some first hand advice.

I would definitely take professional fiscal advice from an independent advisor. The rules are very complex and once you have HMRC on your back, they are difficult to remove!! There are plenty of UK advisors, and also have a look at the GOV.UK site for up-to-date info, which will undoubtedly change with the Brexit situation. Above all, don't listen to the advice in the pub!

I too am in Alamillo, but can't help with schools I'm afraid.
