Hi Camposolians
I'm looking into Camposol as a possible place to live at some point in the not too distant future, I'm in my forties and just wondered if there are many if any full time residents who are working/semi-retired?
TIA

The vast majority of full time residents are over 50 years of age ...the only time you will see kids around is when a holiday maker fetches the family over for a holiday... usually in the summer time... if you are looking for work to finance your move ...then you might find it difficult unless you have some special skill and speak fluent Spanish... check out C.A.B Spain for Residential rules in Spain.. good luck.

Thanks frequent flyer, I haven't got kids....my main concern is if activities and group meet ups etc are during working hours that suit retirees but might make it more challenging for me to meet new people...

Camposol has a great community ...but if you are under retirement age you will need a full time job that pays your Tax & Insurance or you would need to go self employed and pay your own Tax & Insurance ...it really isn't that easy anymore to just move to Spain and become a resident .. most of the businesses on Camposol are run by the owners that seem to do extremely long working hours ...you should also take note that Spain has a unemployment rate of around 40% ..most of the jobs on offer are as and when required cash in hand working in bars /restaurants / cleaning swimming pools / cleaning villas and so forth.
So if you do make the move rent first like most do .

But you're right Frequent Flyer to warn people who post with a question that sounds like a flight of fancy, you never know how much experience of Spain a forum poster may have and it is damn tough out here to make it.

We get at least 5 poster's per week on this forum .all asking the same thing like I want to move to Spain / Camposol and live ...how easy is it to get a job / what's the local schools like and so on ..I have been in Spain for 13 years and I have seen many people turn up with young children in tow...and only lasting around 6 months then they seem to disappear over night never to be heard of again ...and then you get another lot turn up only to do the same thing as the last lot Spain seems to thrive on people coming to Spain and failing this happens all over the Costa's not just in Camposol..I often say to myself what the hell are they running away from...what are they thinking bringing kids to a country with a extremely high unemployment level and virtually no social security system to speak of.

They've probably been watching a place in the sun, which is like a highlight reel of life in Spain.

And if young people do turn up and make a go of it. Learn language have kids in school intergrate fully with the Spanish.
They do so in hedonistic little villages. And don’t seem to succeed in camposol....
If you don’t drink or play golf there is not much at all to do in camposol. For children there is nothing...
I get slammed for my opinion. However for retirement It would be ok. Just younger people not yet at that age and perhaps those who want to be a part Spain itself, the people the culture language etc. I do not recommend it. But for a hassle free retirement or for those wanting a piece of Uk in the sun Pints chips gossip it’s ideal.

F.f.
Once again you haven't got all the facts correct!!
People who have business on Camposol who have brought up family's there and those family's in turn have their family.
So whilst many are over 50yrs (as you say) there are a great many younger people on Camposol theese days, take a look at some of them in the bars, estate agents!!
Need I say more!!
