Best Beaches
Hi All,
We're new to the area having recently bought our home in the sun.
Can anyone list their favourite beaches within 30k (ish) of Mazarron.
Looking to show off to family and friends in the coming year.
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Hi
Boulneuvo has a wide beach, a large car park by sculptures. The sand is ok but a tiny bit rough. The sea is typical med with shingle entering then a sharp drop.
Bahia Bay is entered to by side streets off the road (parking a problem in peak times). Beautiful bay with soft sand and shallow waters - at time a mill pond but one end of it could have beautiful big wave when out come the surfers.
Along the way on same road into the Port you will see another beach which is nicknamed grannies beach as it is shallow, no waves.
The Port bay is long, there is underground carparking by the marina end but the sand is hard but the sea is good. Along the same bay the other end the sand is better and there is a free car park. There are restaurants and cafes.
Isla Plana has a couple of nice beaches and perhaps don't get so busy.
La Ahzoia (through Isla Plana then turn off at sign to La Ahzoia) - there are some beaches along towards end of La Zhzoia - my favorite is the bay in front of Leon's restaurant where you will find an unmade car park.
Perchelles - completely opposite direction - through tunnel to mini roundabout, second turning off and keep going through village, after village the road naturally bears to left, keep on this road which takes you through many agricultural tents on sides of road, keep going right to end (no turning off) you will come to a slightly unmade road with a broken barrier bar - keep going and you will see the bay.
All of these beaches have pop up bar/restaurants from say March - some through to end November.
Enjoy.
Thanks for your comprehensive answer, it's extremely helpful. Grannies beach will suit the wife, but don't tell her I said that!
My favourite is Playa de Bahia because at one end you have the Mirador Cabezo del Gavilan which gives you wonderful views of the coastline and is interesting to walk up, then the other end you have Cabezo de la Reya, again giving wonderful views of the coastline the other way and next to it the Puerto Deportivo with its beautiful boats and bars. You can park very close on the side roads and there is also a public toilet there. Wonderful photo opportunity, if travelling in on the main road, look out for the brown camera icon, that will point you in the right direction. Its also sandy, gently sloping and benefits from two beach bars. Enjoy.

Thanks Anita, very much appreciated. Looking forward to our first summer.
I have a none beach suggestion that will impress your visitors. If you go for a menu del dia in the port, you can follow this up with a G&T at Cafe El Faro. It is open from Easter onwards at the weekend from about 3pm. It's a little pricey but the views over the port are amazing! I think it opens every day from June though to the end of September. Enjoy

Thanks Steve, that sounds great.
