Hi all,

Does any one know if the Town Council is still not giving out Building / Planning permission for Camposol ?

Or are they?

Improvements of a permenant kind need planning permission, and I would not go ahead with any thing without permission, as the fines are so heavy, and of course you need the paper work to register on the purchase documents I am informed by solicitor.

Any one any ideas.?

Yes, just as I expected.

I know, and have spoken to residents who have gone ahead with lots of work, no permission even applied for, but a good friend tells me that the complete Camposol will be checked by the town council at a date to be decided, and properties will be looked at for work carried out without permission, and the appropriate fines issued along with work carried out to be removed.

I do not want to take any chances so will wait.

thanks.

I am currently in the process of obtaining planning for an extension, I have architects involved and the cost are approximately 2200 euros . It’s not only the building licenses you need but also the work needs to be signed off when completed to say it’s ‘as described ‘ and conforms to regulati

Good to know you are doing it right, as they will catch up with those who have not bothered, and hope to get away with it, surely they realise at the very least they will not be able to sell there property with work carried out without permission.

Clamping down by the council is easy money for them, and it will happen.

Is this just for extensions, pools etc?  We had integral garage converted into a third bedroom but the builders never mentioned anything about obtaining permission.

To be honest the builders don’t really care because it’s your responsibility to get the permission sorted. But don’t get me wrong lots of people do work on there properties without the necessary licenses but you could have a problem when or if you come to sell . I have been told that if the work was completed over 5 years ago retrospective licenses can be obtained from an architect but that’s only what I have been told. Being a retired builder from the uk and have always done building by the book I didn’t want to take a chance
