Ok folks it's time we start working on a name change for Camposol. I would like to suggest Complainosol as the new name for Camposol. It's really mind blowing to read the endless amount of complaining people do about basically anything on all the Complainosol social media pages. The majority of residents contribute absolutely nothing for the good of Complainosol but invest a tremendous amount of time complaining about traffic, rubbish, dog poo, burglaries, bin divers, price increases, vandalism, the council doing stuff, the council not doing stuff, broken promisses, street lights, pot holes, the council, taxes, potholes, the council, dogs barking, street lights, the council, noise from neighbors, potholes, the council, street lights, etc.

It's hard to understand why people would want to stay when they're that miserable all of the time. But that entire attitude completely changes immediately in one situation: as soon as somebody posts a question on any of the Complainosol social media pages stating they are thinking about buying a house on Camposol and ask how it's like living here....... Then all of a sudden replies come flying in saying: oh it's wonderful over here, everybody is so friendly, people are always helping eachother out, lots of volunteers doing wonderful things, we have a great community spirit.........bla bla bla.

If it wasn't so sad you'd actually think you're part of a stand up comedy show. Long story short: some people have a very strange way of living "a wonderful life under the Spanish sun";

As my mother in law used to say

Hold your hands out, shit in one and put dreams that come true in the other. See which one fills up fastest.

Well said and so true when people ask about the Camposol Community regarding buying property on Facebook they answer everything is rosy with no major problems and a great community then the same people complain about Street Lighting or Rubbish.

As far as a name change I hate the names for the different sectors such as Sector C why doesn’t each sector have a nice Spanish name as a district within the Ciudad of Camposol

Sector A = Almachar

Sector B = Barranda

Sector C = Caborana

Sector D = Domecelle

Just some examples.

Phil.

Complaints about the general conditions in Camposol are exactly the same as anywhere in the world I would say - not a perfect world.but the prevailing good weather, the General good humour of the Spanish people, and their unique culture; plus the British tradition of neighbourly helpfulness with friendly community spirit makes it possible  to overlook the petty drawbacks when asked what's it like to live here. VIVA ESPAÑA !

Good suggestions Phil. I believe only Sector A has an official (or unofficial) name: Los Palacios.

I like your positive attitude, cheers for that!

Concerning complaints about general conditions I have to disagree with you unfortunately. I have lived in 4 different countries and nowhere/never have I experienced a population that complained as much about everything as on Camposol. And if I take a good look at the Camposol social media pages I don't see alot of that British friendly community spirit. What I do see is alot of Brits who have taken moaning to a new annoying and exhausting level. You have to wade through alot of negativity to find the nice messages about good things happening at Camposol. And even when good things are happening some people are fast to show up and turn it into something negative immediately.....unfortunately.

Seek - and you will find Bugsy! Treat people as you would wish to be treated yourself , and it will pay off.  There are more friendly and helpful people on this forum than anywhere in the whole region. I have never found more patient and helpful individuals anywhere than here. The amount of stupid, lazy, questions that get answered time and time again with infinite patience leave me gasping and unable to respond politely myself sometimes. I count my blessings here : I'm old , but never feel threatened or unsafe going out and about anywhere. There are no no-go areas full of danger that I know of luckily. I am not frightened of anyone or anything living here alone.

I'm always friendly, helpful and welcoming to others and that's why we have some great friends on Camposol. That's also the reason why all this negativity going around on Camposol stands out so much to me. It's so completely opposite of who I am it's hard for me to understand how so many people can be so miserable all the time. Because that's all constant negativity brings: misery.

They say ignorance is bliss - me? I must be both ignorant and blissful , Nothing much has changed here in the 20yrs. I've spent living here and I'm still enjoying myself.
